One species, done right

In the world of wood, there’s no other species quite like Western Red Cedar.

We don’t mill everything. We mill cedar — and we’ve been doing only that since 1984. Our logs come from interior second-growth Western Red Cedar, which gives a board with small, tight knots and a light, bright face. Every piece is held to a high grading standard so what leaves the yard looks good and performs.

North Enderby Timber is a wholesale manufacturer supplying the trade — lumber yards, distributors, builders, and contractors — with decking, siding, trim, and fencing, plus custom runs to spec.

Our story & the cedar
The Shuswap River valley winding through forested mountains at golden hour near Enderby, British Columbia

Rooted in the Shuswap

Cedar from the valley we’ve worked for forty years.

Our logs come from the interior of British Columbia — second-growth Western Red Cedar with small, tight knots and a light, bright face. It’s the reason our boards look the way they do.

Inside the mill

Graded by people who only cut cedar.

Decking leaves our yard graded to Select Decking — an appearance grade and a structural grade at once — so you get a board that looks the part and is sound underfoot. On site, our Richwood remanufacturing line turns out patternstock: tongue-and-groove panelling, bevel, and soffits.

  • Interior second-growth cedar — small, tight knots, light and bright.
  • Green or kiln-dried — supplied the way your job needs it.
  • Custom manufacturing — runs milled to your spec.

The material

Naturally durable. Dimensionally stable. Beautiful to work.

Three generations on the Shuswap

Built in 1984. Still in the family.

The mill was raised beside the Shuswap River just outside Enderby by the Poggemoeller family, and it has stayed a family operation through three generations. In 2025 we marked 40 years of milling Western Red Cedar — and we’re still one of Enderby’s longstanding employers.
